Title: One Flatbed Cart, Four Generations of Commercial Faith

—— The Brand Story of Zhuancheng Technology

Prologue: It All Started with a Flatbed Cart

In the early 1940s, on the dirt roads of rural Huai’an, a squeaky flatbed cart set off every day before dawn.

Loaded on the cart were homegrown grain, eggs from the neighboring village, and daily goods from the town market. The person pushing the cart was my grandfather.

He never went to business school. He didn’t understand “supply chain management” or “business models.” But he understood one thing:

“Shortchange the scale by one gram, and your conscience will ache for a year.”

First Generation: Integrity on the Flatbed Cart

Grandfather’s flatbed cart traveled from village to village. He didn’t rely on shouting — he relied on reputation.

In that era of scarcity, every household counted every penny. Grandfather’s scale was always “generous” — the arm of the scale tilted high, making sure the buyer could see clearly.

Someone once asked him: “If you give a little less, who would notice?”

He replied: “Whether others notice is their business. Whether I can live with my conscience is mine.”

Thus, Grandfather’s one flatbed cart became two, then more. Not because his goods were the cheapest, but because everyone knew: Doing business with him — you could rest easy.

🚩 The first pillar of legacy: Integrity — Trust is the oldest commercial currency, and it never depreciates.

Second Generation: Pragmatism in the Workshop

The next generation took over the flatbed cart, but times had changed.

As reform and opening-up reached northern Jiangsu, simple “buy-low-sell-high” was no longer enough. My father retired the cart business and started a small workshop at the village entrance — processing agricultural products and making simple industrial parts.

No technology? He figured it out himself. No equipment? He worked manually. No customers? He visited one door after another.

My father often said: “Don’t overthink it. Just do the work in front of you well.”

He didn’t know what “long-termism” meant, but he practiced it. That small workshop, during an era when township enterprises sprang up like mushrooms, never grew huge — but never collapsed either. Because it was pragmatic enough — no blind expansion, no shortcuts. Do every product right. Keep every customer.

🚩 The second pillar of legacy: Pragmatism — A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. Every distant destination starts with the step right in front of you.

Third Generation: Courage in Reform

By the time our generation came along (strictly speaking, the continuation of my father’s generation), our vision was no longer limited to Huai’an.

In the late 1990s, as China’s footsteps toward WTO accession grew louder, the younger generation in our family business sensed keenly: Opportunities are not in the village — they are in larger markets.

From Huai’an to Nanjing, from Nanjing to Shanghai, from domestic trade to international trade. Every leap required the courage to step out of one’s comfort zone.

Some advised: “Stick to what you know — don’t rock the boat.”

But the one in our family who dared to lead replied: “Adapting to the trend does not mean waiting for the wind to come — it means walking into the wind.”

Thus, the business expanded from simple agricultural trade into industrial goods, and from the domestic market to international trade. This step laid the foundation for what would later become “Zhuancheng Technology.”

🚩 The third pillar of legacy: Courage — Based on keen observation of trends, daring to break through ceilings at critical moments.

Fourth Generation: Zhuancheng in the Global Era

In 2016, we formally established Huaian Zhuancheng Technology Co., Ltd.

The name “Zhuancheng” was not chosen randomly. It carries the business DNA of four generations:

  • Zhuan (Specialization) — Inheriting the focus of “doing one thing deeply,” elevated to “professional depth”
  • Cheng (Sincerity) — Inheriting Grandfather’s “the scale never cheats,” elevated to “commercial contract spirit”

Our products have changed — from grain to glassware, from automotive diagnostic equipment to chemical raw materials.
Our market has changed — from rural Huai’an to over 30 countries worldwide.
Our tools have changed — from a flatbed cart to shipping containers, from an abacus to digital management systems.

But some things have never changed.

The Unchanged DNA: Core Spirit Across Four Generations

If we must summarize the common commercial faith of our four generations in four words:

GenerationCore ValueManifestation
FirstIntegrityThe scale never cheats — reputation is livelihood
SecondPragmatismDo every product right — don’t chase excess
ThirdCourageSeize opportunities — bravely step beyond the village
FourthAdaptabilityFollow global trends — stand on the world stage

Running through all of this are two words: Zhuan and Cheng.

  • Zhuan (Specialization) : Whatever you do, do it deeply enough
  • Cheng (Sincerity) : Whoever you deal with, treat trust as the hardest currency

Today: A New Chapter of the Flatbed Cart Spirit

Today, Zhuancheng Technology exports high-quality chemical raw materials to over 30 countries worldwide.

Our customers are in Brazil, Turkey, Vietnam, Poland. They don’t know the story of the flatbed cart. They never met my grandfather. But they trust us because:

  • Every batch we supply comes with a traceable COA (Certificate of Analysis)
  • Every delivery date we promise is met on time
  • Every contract we sign stands firm through any market volatility

This is not an innovation of modern management. This is an upgrade of the flatbed cart spirit.

Grandfather’s flatbed cart carried grain.
Our containers carry cyclohexanone, acetates, polyols.
But essentially, they both carry the same thing: Trust.

Conclusion: The Essence of Business Has Never Changed

Times change. Technology changes. Markets change.

But the essence of business has never changed:

  • Trust is the foundation of every transaction
  • Focus is the root of every capability
  • Long-termism is the true shortcut

Huaian Zhuancheng Technology Co., Ltd. — navigating complexity with professional depth, building lasting relationships with sincere integrity.

We have pushed our grandfather’s flatbed cart into the global container terminal.
What has changed are the tools. What has never changed is the faith.
